Why wouldn』t you put Caleb in fly for the medley?
Totally agree about the order of the mixed relay and the coaches being dumber than a box of bricks, I thought it was a no brainer to have Dressel on fly, I thought every single person in the world was on the same page about that part at least. I'm not sure USA could have won the way they've been swimming but at least they would have been in the hunt for a medal if they put Dressel on fly and a dude doing breastroke. Just common sense. For some reason the American coaches hate Dressel these Olympics, first they leave him off the 800 free relay when he very much should have been on it, then they stick him on the free leg of the mixed medley when it was already decided, instead of the fly leg where he could have done something about it. And I totally agree about the strokes, you gotta have a dude on breastroke at least, simple math, for the top world record times, or top times in the world. Difference between guys and girls in back is now only 5.5 to 6 seconds, breast is 7 or 8 seconds, fly is 6 to 6.5 seconds, and freestyle is 5 seconds, sometimes less.
The problem for USA in the mixed relay – they didn't have a high ranked female backstroker – and Dressel should've swum the Butterfly. USA will always have a high ranked female freestyler. I don't know if USA has a high ranked male breaststroker.
As an Aussie – I love Kate Ledecky. Don't get me wrong. She's awesome and a wonderful personality as well. So, again, as an Aussie, it has been pretty galling just how arrogant a lot of American swimming supporters have been on social. Honestly – some expected the USA to win every swimming event. It has been really good to see the limelight in the pool get shared around. Yes – some Americans like superstars Dressel and Ledecky, but TBH some of my highlights have been swimmers like Haughey from HK and Shoenmaker from S. Africa. The Tunisian swimmer as well. Even the Chinese women's 200m. Oh – and the Japanese girl winning the medley. I like this commentator, and I think a lot of American swimming supporters could learn a lot from him, and learn to celebrate other nation's success in the pool.
I knew Aust was going to hand USA's ass in a bag in the women's backstroke events. Was glad to see the USA bragging about their backstrokers getting dealt with.

Don』t forget to mention Noe Ponti in the 100 fly, he improved so much in just one year and got the 3. medal in history in Swiss Swimming.

It』s funny that Dressel anchored the mix relay and had two women do the fly and breast stroke. He thinks it will be easy for him to do the last leg of freestyle but his a$$ got kicked out by female swimmers from other country ! US did not place – he did a Lochte like in 2012 but worse!
