  1. Looks pretty good to me .

  2. No it would be a disqualification. Non simultaneous hand touch

  3. Hands did not touch at the same time.hands were not horizontal i would dq that swimmer

  4. DQ, hands not touching the wall at the same time and are not next to each other.

  5. The hands at touch need to be separated and simultaneous (SW.7.6) The hands also need to travel at all times in the same horizontal plane throughout all stroke cycles (SW7.2). The last stroke into the wall is still a stroke cycle it just does not need to be accompanied by a kick (SW 7.6) so hands must be in the same horizontal plane at finish. DQ.

  6. Hey, non-expert here, I understand the ruling from reading the other comments but not why the rule exists in the first place. Does the swimmer gain an advantage if their hands touch at different times vs when they touch together? Thanks

  7. The ref would have to DQ if he can see this video – in reality he looks from above and wouldn’t even notice the hands touching ant different times, because of the refraction and the really short time gap ;)

    Speaking from experience (Germany)

  8. It is not legal because she was holding the pool when your supposed to touch with two hands and go

  9. If a ref had that line of vision( under the water), then yes a DQ did not touch at same time. But where refs stand, no ref would DQ it

  10. The hands should be on same

  11. DQ for hands not touching at the same time. (Hands not being horizontal is fine.)
Having said that, I reckon if you were on the pool deck, watching at full speed, you'd struggle to call this with 100% certainty!

  12. She may have gotten away with it if her hands were vertically aligned. But it is technically illegal either way

  13. would you please explain why it's not legal?

  14. No way this is legal of course not

  15. Yes two hands did not touch the wall at the same time and they have to be next to eachother

  16. In the strictest sense, no it is not legal. At a high level, elite competition I would dq. But at a local swim club, ie. Middle school or even Masters meet it could pass. If I were an official I would warn the swimmer, post race, to be more careful on their turns or risk future dq.
