  10. Katie's head comes up a bit because she uses what is being called 'gallop' style for her swimming. Caleb Dressel swims the same way. The arm stroke is not symmetrical with a slight pause after the second arm pull. It does involve a slight head lift. Supposedly the idea is that by coming up, you use gravity in coming down to help drive your stroke for more power. This is similar, but not as dramatic as what is done in breast stroke. The breathing every other arm stroke or once per arm cycle does lend itself to this gallop style.

    Her style, particularly the catch, is something near Ian Thorpe's.

  16. thank God, it's the first time I heard a two beat kick. But I doubt that dry land exercise may not be suitable for 95% of swimmers.
