  4. Do you exhale the whole time while under? I appreciate these lessons as new to swimming lapse and very self taught so these videos are fantastic! I breathe every third stroke as I find especially when tired I don’t accidentally take in water with every three ( less probability I suppose) but I will try every two again.

  6. I kid you not I learned how to swim by watching this guy’s 58 minute video with that guy who was scared to swim!! I’ll be 44 in Aug. I learned everything by watching that video 3 times. I was in the pool 4hrs but I got it! Now I’m trying to get over my fear of deep water LOL. Yes I can float on my back and stomach but it’s just something about knowing my feet can’t touch the bottom. One thing that helped me was him saying as long as air is in your lungs YOU WILL FLOAT and NEVER COMPLETELY EMPTY YOUR LUNGS . Im practicing to breathe correctly, if I get tired I float on my back and go back to free style, and Treading is HARD especially if you are out of shape LOL. I sit on the couch practicing my breathing in free style swimming and practice rotating both legs in a figure eight form which is part of treading water. This man is amazing! Next week I’m taking my neighbor with me and I’m going to practice in the deep end with my life jacket on just in case I panic. I’ll probably start with floating first, then holding the edge flutter kicking and then free style. I’m determined to learn treading!! I got to learn it because it could save my life one day.

  8. I have been practicing doing bobs and starting to get the hang of breathing underwater, but I haven't been able to get close to figuring out how to translate that breathing into a stroke. I think this exercise will help. I mostly just can't tell when my head is turned up enough to safely take a breath, as I know pulling my head up is bad and ruins my progress. I'm fairly good and rolling onto my back now. It's just rolling up to take a breath is difficult to properly gauge.

  9. I was really happy to find your video as a self taught swimmer I started swimming this way just naturally but I discovered I can swim a long time and not get tiered. But as I am self taught and didn’t see others talk about this technique I started to wonder if I had done something not recommended. But then found your video saying the same things so felt much better. Obviously you swim amazing I just recently taught myself in the last couple of years and swim most days now.
    So looking forward to seeing more of your videos.

  10. As you shown in video when you swim you not using much kicks where as in my case when I do so my legs sink in water. How to do that?

  11. When I tried this way most of the time water goes in mouth and I loose my control because I cannot breath because water was in my mouth and I was not going to drink it. Also when I brought half face out of water water goes in mouth and ears everytime sometime I drank that water very suddenly and I felt chest stroke from inside. How to control this?

  13. I am 65. Survived and thrived 4 heart attacks. No meds. Always wanted to learn to swim in India. Now staying in Philippines. Must learn to swim. I saw and was inspired by Balaji. Any advice for me?! Just bought a full face Snorkel too.
