  4. I have asthma, but I swim 4x week. Sometimes the 3-4 stroke breaths are too long. I do every 2, but still I can get bad asthma. Any suggestions?

  5. Norms aside, I notice the girls swimsuit cut is much more streamlined than the men's swimsuit which appears to be the widest part! Does this play a role in how much drag is created?

  7. Great video! I am a triathlete and have been trying become a more efficient swimmer for over 15 years! This is the 1st time I have seen instant improvement from any of the private lessons and materials I have experienced.
    Interestingly, my left, non-breathing, non-dominate side catches better than my right which still slips. Are there any additional drills or focus points to address this? Thank you.

  10. As I get back into the pool, that sequence will definitely be in my drill bag.
    I used to do the fist-hand-paddles drill with a little difference.
    I would go back to fists after paddles. Talk about really forcing that EVF!
    Fist swimming is definitely under used.
    Total Immersion actually used to sell a rubber fist glove!

  14. Hi! Croatia here. I really enjoy your videos. I love the chart and the way you're explaining stuff. One of the best tips I've seen on the internet, and regarding the recovery phase, was "lead with your elbow". Once I understood that, I believe my whole hand movement and body posture changed. I'm not sure if you were the one who said it, though :( Sorry! But that was a great advice. Before that my hands were all over the place. The biggest trouble I have is with breathing. It's good on the right side, but when I breathe on the left side, I feel my legs start snaking. I blame my double scoliosis for this, and different strength in my back muscles when you compare left and right side, but my coach disagrees. It's frustrating, but oh well.
    I feel in freestyle swimming there are so many dots to connect. Think about high elbow, the pull, the stretch, the rotation, the flutter kick, keeping core tight and butt high. I feel like with every stroke I forget about at least 3 of those "dots" :)

  17. I LIKE the fact that you DO NOT include a catch-up drill. I think catch-up drills promote over gliding.

  22. I have watched so many technique videos and at my meet today, I competed in the 50 free and my time went from 48 seconds to 36. These videos are so helpful. I take what was said in the videos and think of it at practices and meets to fix it

  26. I love my aqua knuckles, they have made a productive difference in my strokes. When I take them off, I feel like I am more legit as a swimmer. I really don't need to wear them as often now as my fingers are gently separated. Buy I do use them so that my digits aren't stiff.
