Hey I used to do swimming competitively when I was 8-12 yrs old and then I quit. I have become pretty unfit over the years (currently 14 yrs old) influenced by Covid. I am also fairly skinny and want to put on weight and muscle, will swimming with a club 2 times a week + dry land training help? I’m sure you may say swimming 3 times per week would be ideal but as much as I would want to do it, the program doesn’t offer it.
They do weight lifting as well. Swimming alone doesn't do the trick.

Just came back from the pool, looking into techniques, then this comes up – only clicked on it because of Katinka :) love her.
Since I posted earlier, this is what I think to get a swimmers body: (1) weighted calisthenics focused on back. I use gymnastics rings. (2) lots of kick sets with fins. I do at least 500 yds of kick with 200-300 tombstone sprints, dolphin underwater, rotational kick sets (3) lots of IM sprints. I do 1000yds of IM sprints almost every workout. (4) paddles on back stroke. Rotate, anchor, pull → Lats and core.
I had 40km/week + 5 hrs/week of gym for 6 years straight, 10 % fat, ate a LOT
Eat right and swim the muscles and swimmer body will come.

honestly there's a fairly large variety of body types/shapes in swimming belonging to really great swimmers
My showders became wider due just to swimimg ( and nothing else) besides developing an athletic (bruce lee haha) muscular body. Im swimimg about three years now, almost every day, + – 2km in poll, mixing all the four swimimg styles. You can work almost every muscle on your body just swimimg.
Remember that swimmer bodies come in many shapes and sizes! Fat or thin, tall or short, you can be/become an amazing swimmer!
