  2. Your great videos help me to improve my swimming. Thank you so much!

  3. new friend from ghemzskie

  4. precise explanation, easy to understand, thanks~!

  5. Can you do this slowly and less vigorously – and maintain the stroke – not for performance in swimming – but rather rehabilitation. Would like to see more videos focused on water resistance training – and not just about streamlining speed.

  6. Great tips will give them a try

  7. covid season, do review lessons!

  8. i am 40 yrs, i prefer leisure swim, and i combine "frog kick"and butterfly arm stroke" , i just apply one kick when i enter the water , no kick when i fly out the water. and glide longer underwater , it feels good and relax and effortless… if i like i can dive deeper and apply 2 frog kicks underwater which can make me faster..

  9. 2:08 sounded like "seeing your dick"'

  10. Gracias por los subtítulos en español.

  11. Should I use the force of my legs or my hips?

  12. You know why it’s called butter fly?

  14. Hi, what fin are you using?

  15. Bruh are you humping the water?

  16. nice clip, but an incredibly terribly audio

  18. But you have to shave legs and arms, right ?

  19. I want to ask if dolphin kick and the butterfly kick are the same?

  20. Nicely demonstrated. Needs arms pulling . Technique for longer work out.

  21. great. !! thank you so much.  learned a lot.  expect !!!

  22. I try to engage my upper body more, kind of dangling my legs along. But this way my kick seems to shallow, and my coach tells me I need to bend my knees more. Then when I do try to bend my knees, my upper body movement gets lost. Is there a way to train how to balance and connect the upper and lower body into a single rythm? Thanks for all your videos:) "Swim fast!" always makes me smile!

  23. Great Video. 2:18 sec to 2:21 was awesome. I played it in slow motion to understand the sequence in which the Arms, Breathe and Kick (First and Second) works. If you remember, I was looking for this same information in my comments to one of your Butterfly videos. However, I am eagerly waiting for your video on butterfly timing.

I am not sure if this question is relevant to this video. I am taught to do the Butterfly arm pull similar to freestyle pull. The difference here is that you pull both the arms pull at the same time and not like it is shown in almost all the videos (forming a key hole shape before you recover arms outside). Is that still fine?

  25. 1
    00:00:00,394 –> 00:00:07,660
    Butterfly Kick

    2
    00:00:08,963 –> 00:00:10,396
    Butterfly swimming kick.

    3
    00:00:11,634 –> 00:00:16,643
Possibly the most important thing to learn in swimming is the butterfly kick.

    4
    00:00:16,873 –> 00:00:19,197
I say this for three reasons:

    5
    00:00:19,527 –> 00:00:27,460
1- You could legally do butterfly kick for 15 meters every lap during freestyle, backstroke and butterfly races.

    6
    00:00:28,029 –> 00:00:34,549
2- It strengthens your core and therefore improves your stabilization when swimming any stroke.

    7
    00:00:35,200 –> 00:00:41,743
3- Butterfly kick is used in all four strokes after the turns (even during the breaststroke pull out).

    8
    00:00:42,473 –> 00:00:46,399
The most important thing is to practice every time you get a chance.

    9
    00:00:46,868 –> 00:00:51,512
Usually coaches let you choose what kick to do during a kick set.

    10
    00:00:51,670 –> 00:00:56,716
So whenever you have the chance, force yourself to do more butterfly kick.

    11
    00:00:56,956 –> 00:01:01,683
It is going to be harder than the other kicks, especially at the beginning.

    12
    00:01:01,924 –> 00:01:05,148
But I promise it gets a lot easier and it is worth it.

    13
    00:01:05,976 –> 00:01:11,539
During butterfly, the most common technique is to do two kicks for every stroke cycle.

    14
    00:01:12,579 –> 00:01:15,103
For some beginners this could be a challenge.

    15
    00:01:15,554 –> 00:01:18,234
To do this you need to kick fast

    16
    00:01:18,564 –> 00:01:24,576
so practice kicking at a fast pace with a kickboard, simulating the actual butterfly kick.

    17
    00:01:25,180 –> 00:01:29,241
Try doing one strong kick and one smaller quicker kick.

    18
    00:01:30,359 –> 00:01:34,481
This will create muscle memory and will help you swim a better butterfly.

    19
    00:01:35,432 –> 00:01:39,625
In the water there is a little bit of gravity pulling you down all the time,

    20
    00:01:40,341 –> 00:01:42,979
this can offset the balance of your kick.

    21
    00:01:43,217 –> 00:01:48,030
The beauty of butterfly kick is that the more balanced it is the more efficient.

    22
    00:01:48,605 –> 00:01:54,688
This is how kicking on your back, on your side and on your stomach can improve your kick.

    23
    00:01:55,729 –> 00:01:58,887
You will develop a more balanced efficient kick.

    24
    00:01:58,980 –> 00:02:04,280
Remember to make a strong effort when you go downwards and when you go upwards.

    25
    00:02:05,509 –> 00:02:11,093
Just like we said in the freestyle drills video, actually seeing your kick can help you improve it.

    26
    00:02:11,350 –> 00:02:17,050
For this drill it is better to have fins to get high on the water and see the kick better.

    27
    00:02:18,084 –> 00:02:21,178
I will do a video explaining the butterfly timing

  27. Question: To understand better the needs of this community I want to know if you…

    1- have a swimming coach
    2- are your own coach
3- coach swimming to someone else?
