I'm an Aussie. When I went to the 2014 Pan Pacs, I had a ticket for every session, and I was there to see the Aussies do well swimming against the Americans. When I came away from it, all I could talk about was Katie Ledecky. I've never seen anything like it, her times were just incredible. (it was a rainy few days, and the seating was outdoors, but I will never forget how amazing her swimming was.)
It is pronounced 「T Y R」 like js pronounce the letters not 「tier」

You can add gracious to her list of accolades. Watching her smile and congratulate and hug Ariane Titmus after losing the 400 free was refreshing. She showed extraordinary class in that moment.

Ledechy è fortissima, partecipa a tante gare, è incredibile, ma a volte trova dei fenomeni come lei che se sono in giornata sui 200 pellegrini, e 400 titmus, che nuota in maniera divina liscia acqua come si liscia un gatto e poi ti graffia, è favolosa veramente poche nuotano cosi con tanta grazia, TITmus si può fare un video su come nuota sarebbe molto di ispirazione
