Rn, lunch hour, during the week. tried mornings. The pool is too crowded. On weekends, I don't have a choice – morning swim, crowded pool! I'm currently on day 47 of 100 days, 1000m.
I'm thinking of adding a morning swim to my daily routine
I didn't see mentioned the variables of time of year, indoors or outdoors, water temperature, air temperature (except from the AZ respondent), and sun and sun protection. We moved into a house with a backyard pool. Last summer I swam everyday, but I was worried about the SoCal sun, and the water didn't really warm up until about 2pm, so I ended up swimming between 3-5pm. I love to swim and swam 1.2mi a day (that is 100 laps in this small pool). It turned out that no matter how much SPF I applied, I still got quite a bit of exposure. For this year, I am hoping that a "slipins" suit or rash guard will keep me a little warmer and protect me so I can go around 10 am after some other activities. I am 75, retired, female, and slim (so not a lot of warmth). I welcome suggestions from all the viewers. I also just got my Apple Watch and will be trying the App this summer.
The answer is all :)
I'd rather swim after work to clear the head. Also, I find other swimmers too competitive @ 6:00am. They tend to forget about lane etiquette.
I'm an artist and I've never even taken a swimming lesson but I've been looking for a workout that would get me off the couch without hurting myself while also being enjoyable… all of a sudden I thought of swimming and how much I loved going to the pool as a kid/teenager and also to the beach… was always the first one in/last one out. I'm excited to see if this will be the thing to get me out of my physical funk and into an active lifestyle!
I lived in southern AZ and during the winter, i would swim in the evening because it was "warmer" than the AM (around 6am) it could be 43 degrees, the pool was heated but you had to hurry and get dressed BUT in the summer I would swim in the morning because it was was cooler. During a Phoenix summer the pool was warmer in the evening so it was like lukewarm. Not very refreshing after a long day.
Finding these videos great. I feel I swim better between 11am and 2pm.
I wake up at 6::20 and I start swiming at 7:00 am
I prefer swimming in the korning
I』m trying to swim everyday do strength training 5x a wk take a rest day and then get back to doin wat I do best looking strong and badass
Mornings!
If it』s summer break/winter break for school it』s 7:00–9:00 and 18:00–20:00, 18:00–20:00 is my favorite time to swim because I』m very fast then idk why
Swim 5-6 days a week at 5am but my sleep isn』t that great this last week, probably average between 2 – 2 1/2 hours. I know it something I need to work on, but sleeping to much seems to drain me and I』m not sure of a sweet spot.
before I do any swimming, I go water walking, leg stretching, do some cardio, by this time my body is ready to go, and right now I do morning swimming with a combo of weight training. I use to swim competitively in high school, now I am working on endurance after having CHF.
I』ve just started swimming as an adult after twenty years off at 32, swimming three times a week
After work – around 6pm is best for me & you're always guaranteed a solid night's sleep!
I swim at whatever time e works better with my work schedule, but I like the afternoon swims done from work nothing else on the schedule and I get to enjoy and relax.
I prefer train in the evening. Simply because I have the feeling that this is 'the last hard part of the day' and after that I can relax. So training is like separator between work part of the day and rest. It actually boost my motivation. And I don't need to save up my energy. It works great for the running. But for swimming – not so much. Too many people in the pool after work hours. So I usually swim in the morning and try too keep intencity under control. Otherwise I'll be tired whole day.
every early morning at 6:00 am after 5:00 am waking up would make me warm up and keep daily life energetic with 1,200 m during abt 1 hour.
There is only one correct answer. Starting some time after 8 PM and finishing some time before 10 AM
How about swim all 3 for hell week
About 10 am works for me.
I have been swimming in the afternoon between 2 to 3pm for 1 year now and I have put on weight :( why? I am female in her 50s.
