  1. As a coach myself for uptown Whittier ymca I absolutely like this idea.. I just seen this and I'm like "this is very useful." Sometimes by doing something that we aren't suppose to do can help us for the good.

  2. I still remember how our coach would yell at us when we did that! Now… as a swim instructor, I use this as a LTS drill to help teach my little ones proper arm placement on their pull/push. Many times, children want to do a straight arm pull after the pinky finger touches and the hand enters the water. When using this drill, they can't — it's impossible to pull the lane-line with a straight arm. The elbow must be bent to pull. So, although coaches hate it, we instructors love it. =~)
