This video has inspired me to try some breaststroke as I usually just do freestyle and backstroke. The thing is some people say that breaststroke can put a strain on the neck and lower back. I suffer problems with both. Are the perceived neck and back problems just caused by bad tecnique? Is breaststroke OK if done correctly?
We usually do 50% of workout with swimming fly i.e 20*200 fly at 2.45
Or 50*100 fly at 1.20..Its awesome to swim beautifully but comes with cost of hard core efforts..
Free aerobics sets are boring..
Okay just because you inspired me , I actually did IM in my last 2 workouts. Doing Breast and Backstroke and Free…No butterfly as I look like I'm drowning. Backstroke needs work…..it was a fun set.
I see a lot of swim workouts that I admire but could never do with my training schedule and swim skill level. Your IMX workout looks awesome. This could really fit my training at my level while helping me incorporate all 4 strokes. I'm gonna definitely try this! Thanks, Fares!

Hi! I know this isn't the proper spot to ask this, but I'm curious… I'm training for a long distance swim in July (11 miles). As part of my training I have a long swim tomorrow (9,000). My shoulder has been tight. It's not in a lot of pain, but I do feel it when I pull. What's the best way to take care of it so it doesn't get worse and how do you know when is good to swim or shift your training if you feel sore? Thank you for any advice!
Why do you flow through the water on a hot day compared to a cloudy day? Is it because of density?
The stroke I dont like at all is backstroke . It hurts my neck and I dont like its feeling at all
How about, I need to learn all 4 strokes. My fave stroke is the butterfly. It is a natural and easy stroke for me. I don't care for the freestyle. I'll make this my personal challenge to practice all 4 strokes.
Faras I think I'm an oddball lol. I have the hardest time with freestyle. Majority of my workout is fly and breast. Also poor at backstroke. In fact I've added breast because fly was hurting my shoulders. But I think now I'll add the others as you suggested and see what I get. Thanks bro!

IM training is the best! Also good for high school swimmers who want to be recruited for college! Be versatile!
I swim at least 20% of each 4500-5000m workout non-free. I prefer backstroke; you can swim it slowly or quickly, and you can breathe at will! I'm also trying to do more underwater work this year, so i can have better walls at meets during short course season. One of my favorites is to repeat 200 backstroke, swimming at the fastest speed that still allows me to do 7 dolphins off every wall.
This is super important! I see too many beginner swimmers just swimming back and forth. Thanks for the tips, Fares :)
