Best explanation thank you!
Great video… thanks.
Are any of the steps different for the other 3 strokes? I』m guessing the entry and extension steps may be different?
Fantastic video! Thank you so much! Will use these drills for my next session!!
excellent stuff
outstanding
I like to emphasize that fast and short kick you mentioned on the other video to create more flotation and than work on the EVF. I do it on a 25 lap.
outstanding – thanks for the help
Great clear explanation with the nice set of drills!
2:10/ "you not pulling any water if you drop straight arm down" – you wrong about that. You pulling a lot of water actually but in wrong direction "down" instead of "straight back".
Great Explanation. I tried it in the pool and felt much more resistance than before.
THE, THE,THE most important swimming technique to master.
Question, during the pull, is it incorrect to make the "s" pattern? You mention bringing straight back and outside your shoulder. I'm questioning techniques taught decades ago as I return to swimming as a more " mature " adult now.
Excellent lesson! I loved it. I'd like a video on arms/legs synchronisation! Many Thanks!
Excellent video, cristal clear explanation, we need more videos like this.
Very clear instructions. I usually just watch and learn. You are the One and only teacher that I don't get tired of just listening. Thanks and greetings from Finland!
Nice explain sir,thank you
the secret of swimming is to feel the water spirit.
Good explanation but an adult beginner will never have the flexibility to do a "90°" catch. Furthermore, aiming for that without the right flexibility is probably detrimental to your efficiency
Great explanation!
Very good explanation! I have something to add. I had a great coach who had a slightly different interpretation of evf. There is no pause after the extention. Immediately after the extension you point your fingers down and set the catch meaning as early as possible. I never understood how to do that until this week when it clicked that the whole key is showing down your armstroke when setting up the catch and then accelerating through the exit into the recovery.
Great video!!
best swimming channel around
Excellent explanation. I love the precision of the phrases you use. You are a natural teacher.
Thanks your photos and videos are great visual aides I will give a shout out on my videos to all your techniques and teaching I hope it gets you some views and fans. Going to use some video footage and photos from your channel just checking in to see if this is OK? DrPain2Win How can I help you promote your channel. Awesome instruction.
dam, I watched all kinds of free-style videos, turotials, Ian Thorpe etc- but this guy's explanation is the top quality !! thank you so much.
Okay, it's me again…. So, another question about the arm pull, from entry to finish. Straight through pull, or sculling/S/a couple of S type pull???? I practiced the straight arm pull forever, then was told sculling worked better, then heard 'no straight through pull'…. There is always a tiny bit of sculling, but some do it way more than others…
outstanding and helpful
I have watched a few videos to understand and learn how to do the 'catch' and this is BY FAR the BEST one I found. I specifically looked for a video from this coach (Fares) because I watched the one in which he explains how to do a flip turn and it was also (and by far) the best I found on youtube.
Hmm, you explain things so they make sense to me…. Anyway, biggest help to me in learning the catch and EVF was learning the over arm side stroke. I took it up as part of getting ready for total knee replacement by using the scissor kick because it works hams and quads, and flutter kick hurt… If you aren't familiar with it, old style of competition form of side stroke, going back to 1890s. Top arm comes out over the top like a freestyle arm pull, and it turns the side stroke into a long axis power stroke and flip turns. Under arm does a 3/4 body length pull. Only world record, at present, was in 1895, 1:02.5 for 100 yards by Jack Tyre from the UK… Pretty similar to one arm drill, and I change sides on every flip turn, so lots of focus on the catch and pull.
Very informative… really amazing… i have never seen such videos on youtube before… thank you so much bro…you are great.
Thanks!!
Thank you very much

I am right-handed. I noticed that when I started to successfully execute the EVF, the fact that my left arm/shoulder was noticeably weaker than the right arm/shoulder really stood out. This was not so obvious with a less than properly executed EVF. To me the solution is resistance training in the gym where I try to correct the imbalance so as to equalize the strength of each side. Another point: why are your comments on the Finis Fulcrum as a training device?
Is the drill series available on the app as a workout? Also, are you going to add anymore to the Training Plan series? Those are are really helpful especially for beginners. Thanks!
How can i get a more powerful and efficient underwater dolphin kick?
Btw ur vids are great and very helpful!
With an ordinary large paddle, instead of putting the paddles on the hands one can just hold them with half open fists, so that some part of the paddle is on the hand and some part on the forearm and by really focusing on the drop, evf and pull, slowly to emphasize the pressure. I hope I could describe more clearly
